City officials in the cities of Barcelona, New York and Lisbon call for a housing price cut in a joint document calling for "more legislative capacity" to address "the increase in speculative pressure."

"The city is our home, but today it is also where the right to housing, one of the most basic rights, is most endangered," writes Brad Lander, the councilor for Housing and Local Development of Lisbon, Paula Marques, and the councilor of social rights of the Chamber of Barcelona, Laia Ortiz, in a document quoted today by the Spanish news agency EFE.
