This was the average price that each foreigner paid for houses they bought in downtown Lisbon in the last year and a half, according to Confidencial Imobiliário. Faced with this scenario, even those who are not Portuguese and are looking for a better home are already fleeing the city.

The scenario is admitted by Ricardo Sousa, administrator of Century 21 in Portugal. "Houses up to 300 thousand euros are increasingly sought, especially in areas outside the center of Lisbon, such as the Cascais and Sintra, Oeiras, Odivelas, Sacavém and Infantado lines," says Ricardo Sousa.
