Between 2014 and 2017, registered establishments for local accommodation rose from 13,000 to 55,000. Lisbon, Porto and Albufeira are the counties with the most tourist developments of this type. This year alone, around 20,000 new accommodation spaces were registered.

The local accommodation in Portugal has more than quadrupled in the last three years, going from about 13 thousand establishments registered until 2014 to more than 55 thousand spaces that exist today all over the country.
