The project of a new beach support was authorized for an area where the sea, seven years ago, has already wreaked havoc. The building, the chamber's guarantor, was designed to "not collapse in case the sea moves forward."

Albufeira will have seven beach supports, located in the sand for an extension of about two kilometers, but only one that is generating controversy - one that is located near the cliff of Peneco. The population does not conform to the work, although this is foreseen in the Burgau - Vilamoura Coastal Planning Plan (POOC). What shocks, critics say, is the proximity to "the main symbol of the beach." And the fact that we continue to build in areas that have already had to be intervened because of coastal erosion.
