The data are from Confidencial Imobiliário and reveal that in 2016 and in the first six months of 2017 almost 20% of the homes sold in Lisbon were in the hands of foreign citizens. The total investment amounted to 446 million euros.

Between January 2016 and June 2017 about 1,300 houses were purchased by foreign citizens in 11 of the parishes of central Lisbon and where the main old quarters are located. This number represents around 18% of the total of 7,300 transactions carried out in this period, which are only real estate for housing.
