Portuguese and foreigners boost employment and income especially in the regions of the Azores and the Center in September.

Portuguese hotels continued to grow, although at a slower pace in September. It received 2.2 million guests and 6.3 million overnight stays, which corresponds to an increase of 7.9% and 5.1%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. Total revenues grew 16% to Euro 406.7 million, while room revenues increased 18.6% to Euro 303.1 million, or more than three times the growth in overnight stays.
