The Communists presented a proposal for amendments to the State Budget proposal so that old rents became deductible, which is now impossible. Government is evaluating, says Paulo Sá. The Party is negotiating several proposals at the fiscal level.

The rent related to housing rental agreements entered into before 1990 and the New Urban Lease Scheme (NRAU) must also be deductible to the IRS up to a limit of 502 euros, as is the case with most rentals. This is at least the intention of the PCP that has been negotiating with the Government an amendment to the current law. The Communists have now tabled a proposal to change the State Budget proposal for 2018 and, according to Deputy Paulo Sá, the Executive is taking stock and evaluating the issue.
