The construction sector in Portugal created more than double the number of jobs compared to the previous year, from 6,000 to 15,000, and 33 people died in labor accidents, at least nine, a union source announced today.

In the margins of a press conference to announce a balance sheet of the construction sector in 2017, the president of the Union of Construction in Portugal told Lusa that "33 workers" died in 2017, there being a decrease of "nine workers compared to previous year of 2016 "in the construction industry.
