Macau lost 595 workers hired abroad within a year, with 178,492 at the end of November, official figures indicate.
In monthly terms, the former Portuguese enclave registered 1,823 nonresident workers, according to data from the Public Security Police (PSP), published on the website of the Bureau of Labor Affairs.
China continues to be the main source of labor imported from Macao, with 111,727 workers (62.5% of the total), maintaining a long distance from the Philippines, which occupies second place (28,377), followed by Vietnam (14,835).
The hotel, restaurant and similar sector absorbs the largest share of imported labor (50,531), followed by construction (30,727).
