House prices continue to rise a bit throughout the country. Lisbon is the undisputed leader of the ranking, but there are surprises in the table. The truth is that buying a home in the Algarve is getting more and more expensive. This is one of the regions where almost all municipalities recorded prices above the national value.

The data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE) leave no doubt: the Portuguese real estate market is experiencing times of prosperity. The sale price of houses in Portugal rose 6% between July 2016 and June 2017, ie there was an increase in the price of square meter (m2). In this period, the median value of family accommodation sold in the country stood at 896 euros per m2 - a year ago stood at 830 euros per m2.
